Rhyme and Reason: Write Me In

June 3, 2016 by Jeff Burkhart 1 Comment

Pub Shot

Flush your minds of Donald Trump
And Hillary and Bernie
Ignore their speeches on the stump
And join me in my journey
_
I avow that poetry
Will win the next election
I’m asking you to write me in
And make me your selection
_
Outsider candidates
The pundits say are who will win
Get out the vote; support me now
I’ll be the best that’s been
_
Rush out to the ballot box
And change the paradigm
When I become the President
My speeches all will rhyme!
_

    You have my vote!

The NOTA candidate … None Of The Above. The regular guy. Common sense. Someone we can relate to when others divide and conquer.

We all have more in common than what divides us. We all want a better country, to help people, a clean environment, and peace. We just disagree on how to get there.

Can’t we focus on what binds us, and ignore the methodology? Can’t this bring us together? Yes, debate the methods. Then vote. Then accept the outcome.
