Benicia High’s badminton team pulled off a 15-0 sweep of visiting Fairfield on Tuesday.
Cassidy Jannson was a 21-8, 21-15 winner in No. 1 singles for the Lady Panthers, who improved to 6-3 in the Solano County Athletic Conference, two games behind first-place Vallejo (8-1) and a game behind Bethel (8-2). Other singles winners for Benicia included Julianne Chaves (21-9, 21-9); Simone Burdick (21-7, 21-15); Gabriella Traver (21-10, 21-13); Jade Fisher (21-12, 21-11); Rachel Cardoza (21-2, 21-5); Ramona Glatzel (21-4, 21-12) and Jeanette Burdick (21-11, 21-6).
Doubles winners included Cardoza and Jannson (22-20, 21-7); the Burdick twins (21-13, 21-12); Chaves and Traver (21-11, 21-7); Glatzel and Madison Schmeling (21-4, 21-12); Anise Ghandchi and Anataya Phadungsaeng (21-9, 21-11); Jade and Jasmine Fisher (21-10, 21-9); and Giuditta Traver and Hannah Mauch (21-9, 21-2).
Benicia hosts American Canyon on Thursday.
