Witnesses sought in Vallejo shooting

September 25, 2014 by Donna Beth Weilenman Leave a Comment

Vallejo Police Department detectives are asking for the public’s help in their investigation of a fatal shooting late Wednesday at the intersection of Admiral Callaghan Lane and Columbus Parkway, Sgt. Joe Iacono said.

It was Vallejo’s 14th murder of the year, he said.

Officers were sent to the intersection about 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, where they found a 25-year-old man who had been shot while in a truck, he said. The man was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Iacono said.

“The name of the victim is not being released at this time,” he said.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries, Iacono said.

Detectives and crime scene investigators went to the scene, where at least one suspect was seen driving a gold Chevrolet Malibu or similar vehicle, going east on Columbus Parkway, Iacono said.

Those who may have witnessed this crime may call Detectives Raul Munoz or Drew Ramsay at 707-648-4524 or 707-648-4531.
