As of Wednesday morning with all precincts reporting, Mayor Elizabeth Patterson has a slight lead over her opponent Mark Hughes. Patterson currently possesses 50.37 percent of the vote to Hughes’ 49.33 percent. The Solano County Registrar of Voters has identified one overvote and 528 undervotes.

In the City Council election, Planning Commissioner Steve Young is leading with 26.74 percent of the vote with incumbent Councilmember Tom Campbell close behind at 25.62 percent. If they maintain their lead, both candidates will win the election with the top vote-getter becoming vice mayor. Incumbent Councilmember Christina Strawbridge is in third place 23.85 percent of the vote. Rounding out the race are two of the council’s challengers: Economic Development Board Vice Chair Lionel Largaespada with 16.25 percent of the vote and Planning Commissioner George Oakes with 7.14 percent of the vote.

The race has not officially been called. Keep checking the Herald for updates, and the full report will be published in Thursday’s print edition.
