The Columbus Parkway exit from westbound Interstate 780 is scheduled to be closed for the next few days as the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is working with Pacific Gas & Electric to remove trees, according to a Caltrans news release.
The closure began yesterday and will continue through Friday. The exit will be closed each day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day as crews remove overgrown trees and bushes on and near the exit to continue to allow the access and operation of underground utility pipelines in the region.
As the closure is in effect, drivers journeying to Columbus Parkway from Vallejo are encouraged to continue on westbound I-780, exit Glen Cove Road, turn right on eastbound Glen Cove, then turn right southbound on Benicia Road where they can enter Columbus Parkway. Drivers are recommended to allow for extra travel time, and detour signs will be posted. All work will be dependent on weather conditions.
