Vallejo police ask for help in murder suspect search

December 25, 2014 by Donna Beth Weilenman Leave a Comment

Vallejo police are continuing to search for suspects in the slaying of a 19-year-old man who was killed in Hanns Park, and are asking members of the public to help.

“Anyone who may have witnessed this event or has any information, is encouraged to contact the Vallejo Police Department,” said Sgt. Steven Cheatham of the Vallejo Police Detective Division.

Cheatham said the man, identified as Louis Doctolero Fernando Perez, of Vallejo, was shot about 9 a.m. Saturday, when callers said they had heard what sounded like gunfire at the park on Redwood Street.

He said patrol officers arrived to find the victim unresponsive to their attention. “The victim had multiple gunshot wounds,” he said.

Emergency medical aid responders attempted life-saving procedures, but Perez could not be revived, Cheatham said.

Perez was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.

“Homicide detectives are actively investigating this murder,” Cheatham said.

Those who may have information about the shooting may call the Vallejo Police Department, 707-552-3285, or Detectives Sean Kenney or Raul Munoz at 707-648-4524.
