Support strong for Wolk water plan

Legislators from throughout the state Senate and Assembly have said they support legislation written by Sen. Lois Wolk, D-Davis, to provide a comprehensive approach to address California’s water issues. Among the supporters is Senate President pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, a Sacramento Democrat.

The time to vote is now: Primary election day is here

Tuesday is primary election day, and several state candidates are trying to clear the hurdle on the way to the general election Nov. 4. Benicians also will decide whether to support a bond measure to pay for repairs and upgrades at the city’s schools.

Bonilla bill addresses inequities in STEM fields

In action designed to address gender inequities, Assemblymember Susan A. Bonilla has introduced a bill that would increase the number of women in so-called STEM fields — Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Her legislation, Assembly Bill 2350, has been approved by the Assembly Higher Education Committee.
