Staff Report

A San Pablo man was arrested on suspicion of shooting two people on Bayview Circle last week, according to a Facebook post by the Benicia Police Department.

On Tuesday night, a man and woman in the 1600 block of Bayview Circle were shot and transported to area hospitals where they are being treated for non-life threatening gunshot wounds. They are expected to recover, the Police Department wrote.

Following a pursuit done in collaboration between the Benicia Police Department’s Investigations Unit, the San Pablo Police Department and the Solano County Regional SWAT team, the agencies arrested  Ernesto Ramon Alejandre, 21, Thursday night on the 1300 block of Road 20 in San Pablo. Alejandre was possessing a loaded .45 caliber handgun during the arrest, and the agencies discovered a large grow inside the residence with dozens of cannabis plants, the Police Department wrote. San Pablo Police Department is investigating the grow.

Alejandre was booked into the Contra Costa County Jail under charges of attempted murder, robbery and burglary.

“Our commitment to this community is strong and we believe relentlessness in the pursuit of justice is key to keeping our community safe,” the Benicia Police Department wrote.
