The St. Patrick-St. Vincent High boys wrestling team had two grapplers win medals at last Saturday’s Lou Encalada Invitational at Rodriguez High School.

Triston Foley went 3-1 and grabbed third place at 184 pounds for the Bruins. Teammate Marlon Cereca (122) went 4-1 and finished fifth. Foley is 25-6 overall this season while Cereca improved to 25-7.

SPSV’s girls wrestlers competed at Del Oro High School in Loomis the same day. Caitlyn Macanas, wrestling for the first time in three weeks because of a knee injury, went 3-1 in the 111-pound division and took second place. Veronica Chin (123) took third with a record of 4-1, while Erin Gaffney (152) finished with a 2-2 record. Kirra Saunders (128) finished 2-1, while Ariana Saunders (111) finished 1-2.

SPSV hosts Lick-Wilmerding on Thursday night at the Bruins Lair.
