Dominic Nicolas had 20 assists and nine digs as the St. Patrick-St. Vincent High boys varsity volleyball team swept visiting Hercules on Tuesday, 25-19, 25-16, 25-22.
Teammate Deo Boongaling added 11 kills and 10 digs for the Bruins, who improved to 18-7 overall and 12-0 in the Tri-County Athletic League. It was SPSV’s first match since April 1 and it took a little while for the Bruins to get going against the Titans.
“We ran a bunch of our new combos that we worked on during Spring Break,” said SPSV senior John Cuevas. “We were kinda slow and flat at the beginning, but we caught on and were able to play well.”
Mark Perez also had 11 kills for the Bruins. Teammate Anthony Olmes had 12 assists and six digs, and Patrick Basco chipped in with five kills.
The Bruins play at Richmond next Tuesday.
