Taya de Alba hit a pair of home runs and teammate Jaydee Bourshaw hit a homer and had five RBIs as the St. Patrick-St. Vincent High varsity softball team clobbered visiting St. Helena on Tuesday, 15-2, in five innings.
Boursaw and de Alba hit back-to-back home runs in an eight-run second inning and de Alba added a solo shot in the third for the Lady Bruins (2-0). Boursaw, de Alba and Neenah Pangilinan each had three hits on the day, with de Alba and Pangilinan each driving in three runs. Jennifer Adams and de Alba each scored three times.
Cecily Kaluza started on the pitching rubber for SPSV and allowed one hit and no earned runs in two innings. Maria Borges made her varsity pitching debut in relief and allowed one run in 2 2/3 innings before Olivia Soley closed things out.
The Lady Bruins will take part in a multi-team scrimmage on Friday at Freedom High School. Their next official game is Wednesday, March 11.
