Benicia High’s boys tennis program had its 2015 season officially come to an end Friday after its two singles entries each lost in the opening round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II Individual Tournament at Johnson Ranch Racquet Club in Roseville.

Nate Tabtab, who won the Solano County Athletic Conference singles championship in late April and was named the SCAC’s Most Valuable Player, lost 6-2, 6-1 to Julio Ochoa of Ceres in the first round. Ochoa went on to lose to Rio Americano No. 1 seed Bryant Johnson in the second round, 6-4, 6-1.

Benicia’s Rajan Bhatia fell to Jacob Farmer of River Valley in the first round, 6-4. 6-1. Farmer ended up losing to No. 2 seed Nolan McCaig of Ceres, 6-0, 6-1, in the second round.

“We lost but played well and learned and gained a lot of experience that will serve them well next year,” said Benicia tennis coach Joe Perrin. “I’m real proud of these fine athletes.”
