Brianna Schlattman pitched a five-inning perfect game and Benicia High’s varsity softball team routed visiting Vallejo on Thursday, 16-0, for its seventh straight victory.

Shelby Thompson went 3-for-3 with a home run, three runs and three RBIs for the Lady Panthers (20-4, 12-0 SCAC), who completed a season sweep of Vallejo. Benicia outscored the Lady Redhawks 46-0 in three games.

Adriana Chavez went 3-for-4 with a double and four runs, Alana Combes scored twice, Victoria Mackey went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, and Lindsay Zimmer had two RBIs.

The St. Patrick-St. Vincent High varsity softball team clinched the Tri-County Athletic League regular season title with an 8-4 victory over visiting Albany on Friday.

Jaydee Boursaw went 3-for-4 while Olivia Soley, Marisa Avalos and Tori Enderiz had key hits for the Lady Bruins (18-4, 8-0 TCAL). Taya de Alba pitched a complete game.

SPSV retired the No. 20 jersey of former Lady Bruin Jaycie Bertuzzi before Friday’s game. Bertuzzi passed away last May from injuries sustained in a hiking accident in El Dorado County.

The Lady Bruins celebrate Senior Day on Tuesday against defending North Coast Section champion Salesian.
