SCAC vs. MEL all-star basketball game Friday night at Rodriguez High

A group of the best local high school basketball seniors will clash this Friday night in the third annual MEL vs. SCAC All-Star Classic at Rodriguez High.

Benicia High’s Brandon Barrett and Brady Christopher are expected to suit up for the Solano County Athletic Conference boys all-stars. No Lady Panthers are expected to play for the SCAC’s girls team.

Other boys expected to suit up for the SCAC are First Team selections Gabe Martinez (Bethel), Anthony Bryant (Fairfield) and Jihad Woods (Vanden). Most Valuable Player DeMarre Walker isn’t expected to suit up.

Other girls expected to play for the SCAC are Most Valuable Player Kayla Blair (Vanden) and First Team selections Jayme Slay (Bethel), Serena Santos (Bethel), Naomi Strode (Bethel) and Toni Taylor (Vanden).

The girls game tips off at 6 p.m., with the boys game following at 7:30 p.m.
