Staff Report

Benicia’s police detectives are looking into reports of shots being fired near East 2nd and D streets Monday night, according to a Facebook post by the Benicia Police Department.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, the department received numerous reports of shots being fired from a dark colored vehicle. Upon arriving at the scene, detectives found shell casings but no victims were sighted. Area hospitals did not report receiving any victims from this incident, according to the Police Department.

“We do not tolerate such activity in our city, and we are actively investigating the case,” the department wrote.

Those with information on the case are advised to call 745-3412 and ask for Det. Brendan Polick.
