He bought a boat to sail away
From all of life’s frustrations
Thought that he would then be free
To sail to faraway nations
Dreams of islands far from here
And friendly native women
And oysters that are ripe with pearls
To find while they’re out swimmin’
He set sail and got as far
As one mile from the dock
His daydream bubble quickly burst
Got hung up on a rock
Tide was falling fast, alas
Out on Benicia Bay
Let’s just say the end result
Was not his finest day
Neptune’s rath be damned; He’ll wait!
He’ll have to bide his time
2 am will slowly come
And bring a higher tide
“Avast ye lovers of the land!”
His shiverin’ timber moaned,
The thing he learned this dismal night?
Don’t mess with Davy Jones!
