You learned my name,
Then heard my voice.
My eyes locked on yours,
Fate guided the choice.
A passing few moments,
Time held in place.
Shy yet bold,
Sweet smile on your face.
Time for the passing,
Of days turned to years.
Years turned to decades,
Held sorrows and fears.
Always the hug,
The warmth of embrace.
Words of kindness,
The smile on your face.
You’ve heard my voice,
On a cloud-filled day,
And in the hush of night,
Both home and away.
On days of challenge,
And nights of delight,
The glow in your eyes,
Always willing and bright.
Once you heard my voice,
A long distant start.
I said, “Hello.”
You answered with your heart.
