I don’t know you, girl in my sight,
Sweet and clean, with hair bouncing light.
A smile on your face, and sparkle in your eyes,
Too young to practice the ways of the lies.
Turning your gaze to friends by your side,
To look on your world, now growing so wide.
Exploring and testing, thrilled by the view,
Crossing new fields with each thing you do.
Your easy steps as you walk softly by,
The happy wave from the window high.
I’ve seen them all once before,
Now seen in you again once more.
You are familiar to me it seems,
Like a golden thought from a forgotten dream.
Still I don’t know you, even though,
There once was one like you long, long, ago.
