Poetry Corner: Bud Light “A Lost Love”

May 12, 2017 by Bud Light Leave a Comment

Remember the time you lent me your car, and I dented the fender?
I thought you’d kill me…But you didn’t….
Remember the time I spilled Coke on your new jacket?
I honestly thought you’d shoot me…But you didn’t….
Or the time I forgot to tell you the dance was formal, and you wore jeans and were embarrassed….
I thought you’d hate me
But you didn’t….
And all the countless times you’d try and be serious and I’d just giggle.
I thought you’ d drop me… But you didn’t….
Or all the times I’d flirt with other guys to try and make you jealous, and you were?
I thought then that you’d leave me for sure….
But you didn’t…..
You were always so loyal and committed to me, and there were plenty of things you did to put up with me; to keep me happy …..and to show your love for me. And so there were so many things I wanted to tell you after you got back from the war
BUT YOU DIDN’T.
In memoriam by Bud Light and anonymous friend who told him her story.
