February 15, 2018 by Editor Leave a Comment

Dotty Nygard, a Democratic candidate in California’s 10th Congressional District election, spoke at Tuesday’s night’s Progressive Democrats of Benicia (PDB) meeting in lieu of the scheduled speaker, California Attorney General Xavier Becerra, who canceled prior to the event. A registered nurse who grew up in Contra Costa County and also served on the Riverbank City Council, Nygard is challenging incumbent Republican Rep. Jeff Denham in the seat which consists of Stanislaus County and portions of San Joaquin County. During the meeting, Nygard spoke in favor of clean energy, universal Medicare, a tuition free college system, legalizing cannabis, and rights for immigrants and women. The next guest invited to speak at the March 13 PDB meeting is gubernatorial candidate and former State Superintendent Delaine Eastin. (Photo by Nick Sestanovich)
