Photo: Raising money for a good cause

May 2, 2017 by Editor Leave a Comment

The Tim and Jeannie Hamann Foundation hosted its 13th annual dinner and auction on Friday. The event, which raises money for cancer research, began being hosted out of the Hamanns’ home and then was held in Napa for a few years. It returned to Benicia last year when it was held at Ironhorse Home Furnishings and made its way to a new venue this year: the Clocktower. Items that were bid on this year included gift baskets, a month of unlimited classes at Jute Crossfit, tickets to San Francisco Giants and Oakland A’s games, a 49-inch LG Smart TV, a Disneyland package, tickets to the San Francisco 49ers’ Oct. 22 game against the Dallas Cowboys, an autographed jersey by former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and many other valuable items, which all helped raise money for cancer research. More than 200 people came to the event, which in the past has helped provide money for two months’ worth of house payments for a Stage 4 cancer patient, a two-night hotel stay for a patient having treatment at UCSF, numerous grocery and gas gift cards for patients, car tires for a single woman with breast cancer and more.
