March 31, 2017 by Editor Leave a Comment

The Benicia Police Department held a promotional/swearing-in ceremony at City Hall Thursday morning for its new officers as well as veterans officers promoted to new positions. Being sworn in by City Clerk Lisa Wolfe from left to right are Michael Greene, promoted from lieutenant to captain; Keith Kops, a reserve officer who joined the department in November after 11 years with the Berkeley Police Department; Jerry Riberia, Stephanie Polizziani and Sergio Cruz, all promoted to corporal; and Rex Hawkins, a police officer who joined in October and served in the U.S. Air Force where he has worked as an instructor with the Air Force Reserve. Also at the ceremony, Police Chief Erik Upson introduced new patrol volunteers Karen Ebert and Mark Sally and presented a special award to Cpl. Kirk Keffer for his much-publicized initiative to support Vallejo young adult Jourdan Duncan. (Photo by Nick Sestanovich)
