The St. Patrick-St. Vincent High boys volleyball team had its season end Tuesday night after a 25-19, 25-22, 19-25, 25-17 loss to top-seeded Bentley in the North Coast Section Division III semifinals.

The Bruins (25-7) were one win away from a berth in the NCS Finals and the Northern California Tournament but couldn’t slow down Bentley senior David Lehman, who registered a match-high 18 kills for the Phoenix (25-3).

“He fooled us a lot and we had a hard time getting good blocks on him,” said SPSV junior Alex Olmes.

Olmes led the Bruins with 16 kills while Noah Moretti added nine kills. Other standouts for SPSV included Ryan Manuel (11 assists), Jonathan Lata (14 assists), Dominic Delgado (11 digs) and Matthew Peters (five blocks).

Bentley will host No. 2 seed Berean Christian for the NCS Division III championship on Saturday.
