Letters: Mike Thompson and fashion fundraiser

May 2, 2018 by Editor Leave a Comment

One way to look at it

Resgarding Rachel Binah’s April 20 response to my comments about Mike Thompson’s 2008 vote against protecting our shores from off shore drilling, that’s an interesting interpretation of the bill and situation, especially considering that almost all Democrats voted for the bill and Mike Thompson and almost all Republicans voted against it. It’s also interesting to note that this response is coming from an employee of the Democratic Party.
Here’s a fact: if you look up Mr. Thompson’s donor list, through the FEC (http://docquery.fec.gov/cgi-bin/com_rcvd/C00326363/) you can see that Mr. Thompson has taken money from BP, Valero and all kinds of oil and energy companies, as well as Koch Industries, who are known for polluting. I suggest the reader look that up.

CAC fashion show was great

I was delighted to attend the Fashion Show which benefits the Benicia Community Action Council.  The theme, “The Greatest Show on Earth,” was inspirational. The atmosphere was lighthearted. Thank you to the students from Liberty High who helped at the event. To everyone who volunteered, thank you. Events like these happen when everyone comes together to help.
