‘March for Our Lives’
I was proud to join the many Benicians who participated in last weekend’s “March for our Lives,” and I was grateful to the young people who organized it. Their intelligent and moving speeches gave me hope that we might finally see some progress on sensible gun legislation. Please don’t stop now. Let’s all make sure to register and vote.

Arbor Day thanks
The Benicia Tree Foundation would like to thank those who helped make Benicia’s 2018 Arbor Day celebration a success. This community tree planting event took place last Saturday at Francesca Terrace Park under a mostly blue sky. Ten trees were planted by a group of volunteers that included representatives from Benicia Boy Scout Troop 007, Cub Scout Pack 108, and Mr. Brad Upton’s classes at Benicia High School.
In addition to these groups, we would like to thank the Benicia Herald for publicizing the event, and the city of Benicia which includes its dedicated employees from the Parks and Community Services Department.
This community support helps keep our city beautiful and sustainable, and helps Benicia maintain its Tree City USA designation.
