Vagrants?
I enjoy living in Benicia and the kind people who live here. On my daily walks, I delight in the brief “hellos” and “good mornings” as I cross path with other Benicians. I have therefore been puzzled when I have seen signs suggesting that Benicia is overrun by vagrants. I don’t see vagrants in Benicia but from time to time I may see a homeless Benician. So I was delighted last week when I was handed a flyer for a local program called “Benicians Helping Benicians.” What a great idea. They are supporting seven local organizations helping Benicians in need. I am now deciding if I want to volunteer or donate. I hope the person(s) who put up the unkind signs will join me in this positive effort.

Until recently the park at Military and 1st street had more than folks seem to think. It appears a crackdown emptied the park of the not wanted what ever they are. Very good move. It appears when a city puts
outs out the welcome sign the so called not wanted flock to that destination. Try Fairfield. Benicia it appears was not a good experience for the unwanted. Someone had to make them unwelcome. It appears that was the residence that did not want to tolerate the issue. CAC has been doing that help for a long time. Not new. I have seen only one sign about vagrants. Bodil please tell me where these signs are. The residence are a very tolerant group of folks. Giving Help is very common in Benicia. It appears Bodil in your case the signs worked.
Mr Owl, It appears you don’t proof read your posts.before submitting them. I read through it several times and it still doesn’t make sense. Perhaps you hadn’t had your coffee yet? I did get the gist of what your trying to say I think: That your pleased some “unwanted” people were run off, that your displeased with the idea that someone found the sign(s) objectionable, and that your favorite phrase of the day is “it appears”

So basically you’re saying the structures that people live in are tolerant. I don’t know about you, but my house really doesn’t have an opinion on the issue one way or the other.

It might surprise you to know that I partially agree with some of what you say – it’s just how you say it. You attack anyone, without fail, who has a different opinion than you. Why are you always so confrontational? Right or wrong, you have no tact. So I occasionally pick on you because you deserve it. You need to see what it’s like to be on the receiving end. And WTF does Trump or my political affiliation have to do with any of this?
Thank you. My approach is very simple. I am very critical of folks that make statements that are wrong or better yet emotional. I look at how all of our City Councilmembers vote and then make a statement about it. All based on facts and my Conservative views. Am I wrong to call Bernie Sanders, Warren and the Mayor Progressive Socialist. Absolute not. I do believe that Bernie is a self admitted Socialist. So to call a follower of his political agenda a Socialist is correct. Like it or not.There behavior has showed anyone who understand politics what their leanings are. I have no problem with their leanings. I just disagree and will call them out on it. Is that wrong? NO, NO. I am not confrontational. I just call it as I see it. If anyone is weak about that they should not talk politics. Believe in what you believe in and live with it. I do.

Do you deny my facts? I am the only one in this town that will go toe to toe with the mayor. Also call her out on her very Socialist Ideals. State facts based on what folks say about who they back etc. Yes we have a few Socialists in Benicia, Solano County and California. My suggestion is to join in on what ever you believe and stand up for it. Stop being so PC it does not work it shows weakness. You say I deserve it. Then you are attacking many of my followers who are silent but do believe as I do. Yours or anyone’s political affiliation or anti President Trump is what it is all about. It is not me it is the Socialist Liberals who are still in mourning about the 2016 lose. The Republicans will hold the house in 2018 and President Trump will be re-elected in 2020. Count on it.
The guy putting up the signs about vagrants was defacing city property. He taped them to all the beautiful blue light posts up and down First street and the pier and on the trashcans. He used heavy duty packing tape. I know, I confronted him-I’m a 61 woman and barely 5 feet. He was a big white guy in a big pickup truck and seemed to really enjoy getting in my face. Think I’d rather have a few “vagrants” than have to deal with that kind of hate.
