LWV to hold open house today

Democracy is not a spectator sport, even though many of us spend hours following political happenings on TV or social media. Lately, there has been much to keep us occupied. The League of Women Voters Benicia strives to keep people informed, involved, and registered to vote. The League is a nonprofit, non-partisan political group which doesn’t support political parties or candidates. We hold both monthly discussion groups (Great Decisions) and monthly educational forms on political issues of interest. This month we will be holding an Open House for members and the general tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Southampton Swim Club, 10 Chelsea Hills Dr., Benicia.
During the Open House, attendees will learn how the League functions and meet members of the board. After introductions, we will want to hear from you! What issues are you most concerned about? Which do you want to learn more about? Come share your concerns in topic specific roundtable discussions and help us better serve the voting public.
The gathering is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. To RSVP or get more information, contact me at vonwindgayle@gmail.com.

Gayle Vaughan,
LWV Benicia Program Chair
