Benicia High’s varsity volleyball team barely had to move to sweep host Vallejo on Tuesday, 25-10, 25-5, 25-10.

The Lady Panthers registered an amazing 37 aces against an inexperienced Vallejo squad and needed only 14 total team kills to put away the Lady Redhawks. Benicia needed to make only three digs all night.

Emily Maher led Benicia with six kills while Jessica Blakeman added four kills. Karah Fisher had eight aces and nine assists, Natalie Sluga also had eight aces, and Lana Gore had four aces. Seniors Lexi Saitz and Balmediano each had four aces and combined for five assists.

Benicia, now 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the Solano County Athletic Conference, hosts Fairfield today.
