Some of these and some of those, one more and then another
Gotta have it! I can’t wait; just give it to me brother
It starts when we are young with cookies, dolls and model planes
Albums, clothes and baseball bats, computers, Lionel trains

A chocolate swirl, a boy, a girl a laptop or PC
A Chevy or a Cadillac; it’s all the same you see
A drink, a joint, a glass of wine some acid or some blow
Folks are wanting everything, that’s just the way it goes

People growing older wanting just enough to live
Ending up with much, much less than what they had to give
People searching deeper for a meaning that they missed
Sex relations, meditations, trying to find some bliss

As for me I’ve struggled, with this issue in my life
The other day I pinned it down, and then I told my wife
I’ve lived enough that I have learned, and what I’ve come to know
The key to inner happiness, is having lots of dough
