Jeff Burkhart’s “Rhyme and Reason”: The Wonder of it All

June 18, 2017 by Jeff Burkhart Leave a Comment

Little things get bigger
As the years go flying by
Time stops now and then; that’s when
Small things will catch my eye

The hummingbird and bee and me
All watch the garden grow
Each of us have things to do
As we all come and go

The blood that fills my heart with life
Flows on in other veins
Two more generations’ link
To form an endless chain

I marvel at the wonder
As the beat goes on and on
I never take for granted
Waking to another dawn

Maybe it’s just me but Lord
I pray that it is not
Let’s ignore what we don’t have
And cherish what we’ve got
