On the porch late last night, with some wine and my wife
We discussed the next day, we would live in our life
It was based all around, a parade on the third
Celebrating the fourth which to me seemed absurd
So we paused, then we laughed and we sipped on our drinks
As we talked about life, and we started to think
How the days of our lives, sometimes seem so mundane
As we do this and that, once again and again
Life is cutting the grass, and its underwear shopping
And walking and cooking and nights of bar-hopping
It’s grappling with bills and its napping and moping
And losing and winning and feeling and hoping
So each day we live, we should bask in the glory
Of living our lives, as we each tell our stories
For me it’s two cats and a mom and a wife
It’s a story I’m writing that I call;
“My Life”
