I made my living doing lights
And worked for many bands
I’ve learned the things one needs to know
On tour in foreign lands
I’ve walked the streets of Paris and
Vacationed some in Laos
I’ve visited Australia
And I’ve seen a Scottish grouse
For thirty years I’d go away
For two thirds of the year
I missed a lot of family time
And memories I fear
A candle burns more quickly
With a flame on either end
I finally had to snuff them out
Go home and make amends
In my travels I have found
No matter where I roam
Like Dorothy and like Toto learned
There’s no place like my home
