I wonder if the good Lord hears, our voices when we pray
The size of his to do list, must fill up his busy day
It seems if he were listening, he’d hear an awful lot
Of people wanting lotto wins, and more cash than they’ve got
We wonder when we pray for things, why God’s not more compliant
I think his plan’s for us to be, a bit more self-reliant
It could be that he put us here, with trials for us to find
To overcome these obstacles, might be what’s on his mind
Whenever things don’t go our way, it’s not God’s unaware
I think that our existence is, the answer to our prayers
