FROM TIME TO TIME THE GROUND SHAKES
Causing us to all remember
We’re living on the fault line
And so now and then have temblors
My East Coast friends remind me
That I live under a specter
Of an Earth that often shakes
Beneath my living vector
They watch too many movies
When it quakes we barely feel it
If my neighbors all are scared
I guess they just conceal it
We go about our business
Shakers never wrack our brains
Besides you people in the East
Get snow and hurricanes
So set your minds at ease
We don’t find earthquakes very frightening
A deadly one’s as likely
As you getting hit by lightning
