Jeff Burkhart’s “Rhyme and Reason”: My Last Chance (Prayer)

September 18, 2016 by Jeff Burkhart Leave a Comment

Pub Shot

God forgive us, we are weak, the path to all the things we seek
Is fraught with pitfalls and distractions, wars and human interaction

Hear me now my solemn prayer, I pray for humans everywhere
I’m witness to our own undoing; destiny’s cruel fate ensuing

Give us strength, grant us the mind, so what I seek is what we’ll find
You’ve left the choice for them and me; the deeds we do is who we’ll be

I’ll do my best, please fill our sail, to get it right and not to fail
Walk with us, let peace be granted
To every soul across the planet
