Our capacity for learning, is a glory to behold
Advancing our achievements, to new heights yet left untold
But learning as in other things, is good as well as bad
Think about before man rose, the run our planet had
When early species lived on Earth, (For eons I am told)
They didn’t mine for minerals, like gypsum, iron and gold
They didn’t cut the forests, or pollute the planet’s seas
Or change the make-up of the air, or kill the bumble-bees
But then one fateful day my friends, the humans stood and walked
They put on clothes and I suppose, that’s when they learned to talk
Exchanging their ideas, they learned faster than before
And now there’s just no telling, what the future holds in store
