Writing left to right, is just the way we do it here
Right to left and up to down, are right, East, far and near
Cuneiform clay tablets, hieroglyphics and the rest
Printed words, calligraphy; folks use what they know best

Books and cards and letters, business deals and poetry
Will last a wee bit longer, on a page it seems to me

Write the truth or write a lie, whichever one you choose
I have read both versions, when they’re printed into news

Read the paper carefully, each time that you retrieve it
If it doesn’t match your views, I doubt that you’ll believe it
