ON A TRIP TO MEXICO
We landed in Cancun
And drank and ate and danced about
Among the beach’s dunes
Right there outside our balcony
A small stone Mayan ruin
We donned our flip-flops then we hopped
Downstairs to see what’s stewin’
We got our morning meal at nine
It just was me and Donna
The waiter gave us fruit to go
To feed to the Iguana
We arrived in nothing flat
I found a long dry reed
Iguanas came right up to us
Whom Donna then would feed
Big ones stole from small ones
We observed their pecking order
The little things make life worthwhile
Both here and south of the border
