The Dreg-ish-ness inside my soul, that’s fueled me all these years
And stood by me through thick and thin, in triumphs, trials and tears
Rekindles now to venture forth, to tour throughout the land
And join with my old friends again, rebirth our erstwhile band
A fair wind blows behind my back, the sun shines on my face
Steve Morse’s music fills my ears, and gives me sense of place
Every note, a day I’ve lived, a year in every measure
And as we live and die to share, this music that we treasure
We share these precious moments, with each other and with you
To do the thing that we know best
Now what else would we do?

Any comment I have will pale in comparison to this piece. Tugged at my heart and caught me in the throat because your words ring so true. Your friendship and connection is apparent in every show you guys perform. Lights have been great Jeff. It was a charge for me to just get to say hi in Bearsville at intermission and I hit Boston with my daughter again and Tonight is Albany and we’ve got front row … then, I am blessed, fortunate, and sad simultaneously. I caught 5 out of 7 in the NE … can’t look a gift tour in the mouth. Be well and safe travels, I am going to be reading your poetry now that I know where to find it.

Never thought I’d read anything about the Dixie Dregs on these pages. Back in my school days, Steve Morse was one of my guitar heroes, for sure.
