Jeff Burkhart’s ‘Rhyme and Reason’: Changing Channels

February 28, 2014 by Jeff Burkhart Leave a Comment

EVERY COUPLE YEARS
The great Olympic Games are aired
We have to turn on NBC
To see how countries fared
We see the skaters sitting
Crying tears and giving smootchies
As they are being interviewed
By Kristi Yamaguchi
The network’s spending billions
So that we will watch “Today”
In hopes that they can sell some soap
And bore us every day
We see so many talking heads
And Kings and Queens and Jokers
We see the news and weather
Through the eyes of Lauer and Roker
I watch it for a fortnight
And I put up with the panel
When it’s finally over
I can’t wait to change the channel
