An altruistic thing to do
That our two cats would give
My wife and I permission to
Stay in their house and live
I guess they figure in the end
That we won’t interfere
With mischief they intend to do
To us throughout the year
I am under Gracie’s power
And Lucy’s my wife’s boss
We live to serve at any hour
So we don’t make them cross
The truth is that the four of us
When we are circumspect
Know our lives are built on trust
And mutual respect
But still a mystery to man
Cat’s motives are complex
We know much less about them than
Tyrannosaurus Rex
