Jeff Burkhart’s ‘Rhyme and Reason’: A Better World

March 11, 2014 by Jeff Burkhart Leave a Comment

NO RAIN IN CALIFORNIA
Crime is up, employment’s down
Traffic’s rough and times are tough
In cities and in towns
The Middle East is blowing up
Ukraine’s a big snafu
Health care costs and money lost
And things that make us blue
Phones are small computers
We relate to more than others
And so we may not notice
All the suffering of our brothers
Politicians’ promises
Forgotten over time
Elected peeps whose talk is cheap
We know the paradigm
The world could be a better place
If all of us chip in
And fix one thing that’s wrong each day
And don’t wait to begin
