Have you ever wondered,
When you’re apart,
The distance of friendship,
The space from your heart?
Friendship may be far,
But still it is near.
Listen to the soul,
The heart will hear.
Bonds from the past,
Made connections from the start.
Friendship gained holds,
Though now miles apart.
Fate does as it will.
It chooses not to last.
But memory holds firm,
Thoughts from the past.
Two young lads,
From vastly different climes,
Held together still,
With help from simple rhymes.
Perhaps I’ll never see you again,
Or once more shake your hand.
But once we were buddies,
At sea and on land.
