February 22, 2018 by Editor 1 Comment

Staff Report

The Fairfield Police Department announced yesterday that they had arrested Derek Dunlap in connection with the Wednesday killing of Benicia resident Alexander Lind.
At 6 a.m. Wednesday, Fairfield police received a report of a man down in a parking lot on the 1200 block of Empire Street. Upon arrival, officers found Lind, 28, in the lot. Police secured the scene, and detectives began investigating the crime.
On Wednesday, the Fairfield Police Department posted a picture of a man they believed had more information on the homicide and asked people to call or text the department with any information they had. At 7:30 yesterday morning, a Fairfield resident reported a subject that resembled the suspect in the photo in the area of Broadway and Taylor streets and was still wearing the same clothing. The police arrived and located Dunlap, a 26-year-old Fairfield resident, he was detained without incident and the Fairfield Police Investigations Bureau. Dunlap was charged with first-degree murder and booked into the Solano County Jail.
