Casino trip to benefit Relay for Life

May 6, 2015 by Donna Beth Weilenman Leave a Comment

A bus trip Tuesday to the Red Hawk Casino near Placerville will help raise money for the American Cancer Society, said Rod Nubla, a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Solano Pacific, which is organizing the excursion.

“Along the way, we will provide snacks, drinks and bingo for your enjoyment,” Nubla said.

The trip specifically will help the Relay for Life, he said, so contributions — including beverage donations — will be accepted from those who can’t attend.

“The fewer expenses we have, the more money goes to Relay,” he said.

The bus can hold 48 passengers, and each rider must be at least 21 and have a valid photograph ID.

Those attending will depart from Harvey Plaza, 425 Military East. Breakfast will be provided on the way to the casino, and snacks will be served on the return trip.

Riders can have mixed drinks and play bingo, Nubla said.

The bus is expected to arrive at Red Hawk Casino at 10 a.m., after which riders can try their luck at more than 2,000 slot machines and 75 gaming tables. The casino has six restaurants and a buffet with no-smoking sections in each.

At 2:15 p.m., the bus will leave the casino, arriving at Harvey Plaza at 4:15 p.m.

Registration for the casino package and club card is required.

Cost is $50, including $10 casino slot package and player’s club card, Nubla said. Tickets are available at Coldwell Banker Solano Pacific, 900 First St.

Those interested may call Judy Foster, 707-480-5970.
