The Carquinez Choraliers, a volunteer choral ensemble established in Benicia in 2015, is looking to add a few new members.
“We’re always looking for new singers,” founder Jeanie Brown said. “We hope to bring cheer to people who need a little extra joy in their days.”
The group performs regularly for seniors in Benicia and Vallejo. They also sang at Benicia’s Holiday Open House in December, and at the Benicia Farmer’s Market last summer. The singers are currently in rehearsal for “That’s Show Business,” a program of songs from Hollywood movies and Broadway shows, to be performed at multiple venues beginning in the spring.
The Choraliers have become a fixture at Casa de Villarrasa, a housing complex for low-income seniors in Benicia, and at Brookdale Senior Centers at their two locations in Vallejo. They also perform regularly at the at the Benicia Senior Center and the Veterans Home in Yountville.
For more information contact Jeanie Brown at 745-4219 or email her at jbrown.bns@att.net.
