Car show and cookout to raise funds for Relay for Life

May 25, 2016 by Elizabeth Warnimont Leave a Comment

Benicia and Vallejo are teaming up to raise funds for this year’s Relay for Life, an annual event to raise money for the American Cancer Society, by hosting a classic car show and chili cook-out on Saturday, June 18 from 10 to 3 at the Commandant’s Residence in Benicia.
The event is being sponsored by Carter’s Biz Cafes, located in the Commandant’s Residence at 1 Commandant’s Lane, across from the Clock Tower. The day will serve as both a fundraiser for the August relay event and an opportunity to sign up to walk or join a team for the relay, which will be held at Benicia Middle School on Aug. 19 and 20.
The free June 18 event will include car show awards, a flag ceremony, a special tribute to cancer survivors and caregivers, vendors, food and activities.
To register or for more information, contact Kim Cooper at 373-9461 or Leeann Cawley at 334-0077.
