Brock’s Garage to hold fifth annual Rob Mogile Car and Bike Show

July 1, 2016 by Eliza Partika 2 Comments

Brock’s Garage is putting on its fifth annual car and bike show in honor of Rob Moglie on Saturday, July 9. The car show begins at 10 a.m. and lasts until 3 p.m. Awards will be given at 2 p.m. The show is open to all makes and models of motorcycles and cars. The first 80 car or bike entries will receive goodie bags and a dash plaque. Participants can sign up any time before the show, as well as at the show itself. Registration costs $25, cash only.
This year’s awards are Best in Show, People’s Choice, 1st Place 1977 and Above, 1st Place 1976 and Lower, 1st Place Stock Bike, 1st Place Custom Bikes, 1st Place Trucks, Best Paint, Best Interior, Best Graphic, Best Rims, and Under Construction.
There will be live music and entertainment for all to enjoy, including a raffle and silent bake auction and a classic railroad display. Food will be catered by Big Love N’ BBQ. All proceeds will go to one of the many charities that Kevin Brock, the owner of Brock’s Garage and the founder of the car show, will donate to with this year’s car show. Throughout the car show’s history, Brock has donated to a variety of causes from cancer charities to local youth programs.
Brock began the car show five years ago to help his friend, Rob Moglie, who had been diagnosed with lung cancer, raise medical funds. When Moglie passed away, Brock decided to continue the car show in his memory.

“I thought it would be nice to give back to the youth, so his name would live on. ” Brock said.

Rob Moglie’s name does indeed live on, in the car show that bears his name as well as the Rob Moglie Scholarship Fund.

“It’s all about giving.” Brock says of his car show.

This year, he is donating the proceeds from all the activities at the car show to several charities; two $500 scholarships for Liberty High School students, to the Veteran’s Memorial Hall, and to families affected by cancer. In past years, Brock has donated anywhere from $10,000 to $25,000 to local charities.
Brock’s Garage’s 5th Annual Car and Bike Show will offer fun for the whole family, as well as a way to give back to local charities, the Benicia community, and the youth. The event will be held at the Veterans Memorial Hall, located at 1150 First St.
