Benicia High’s girls tennis team played a perfect match in a 9-0 victory over host Vallejo on Tuesday.
The Lady Panthers didn’t drop a single game en route to the win, with five singles players and three doubles teams winning by 6-0, 6-0 scores against winless Vallejo (0-3).
“As you can see the Vallejo team is a very inexperienced team,” noted Benicia head coach Lisa Burton.
Madeline Beyer, Gabriella Traver and Samantha Beyer swept their Nos. 1, 2 and 3 singles matches. Nicole Go and Katie Voss swept Nos. 4 and 5, and Kaitlyn Tang won by forfeit at No. 6.
Emily Jewik and Madison Lammert were No. 1 doubles winners. Other doubles winners for Benicia included Mimi Esmerode and Angela Jennings, and Katie Steinman and Mariah McNally.
It was the 36th straight Solano County Athletic Conference victory for the Lady Panthers, who haven’t lost in SCAC play since losing 6-3 at Vanden on Oct. 12, 2012. Benicia is off to a 4-0 start this season.
The Lady Panthers host Fairfield today and will take part in the Northgate Tournament beginning Friday afternoon.
