Benicia High’s varsity swim teams swept host Fairfield last Wednesday, with the Panther boys winning 104-37 and the Lady Panthers winning 115-39.
Sophomore Esther Hurst was a dual winner for the Lady Panthers in the 200 free (2:07.77) and 50 free (26.09), qualifying for Sections in both. Junior Hannah Barlow (100 free, 500 free) and sophomore Alyssa Powell (200 IM, 100 back) also won two events each. Senior Nicole Peck (100 fly) and sophomore Kelsi Norman (100 breast) rounded out the individual winners.
Senior Cris Barlow made Sections winning the 100 breast (1:06.60) and the 50 free. Senior David Larson (100 fly) and juniors Matt “Moose” Simonson (200 free), Xavier Quintana (200 IM) and Harrison Flores (100 free) each won their events.
The Panthers host Bethel this Wednesday at the James Lemos Swim Center with an opportunity for a repeat, undefeated SCAC regular season.
